Artist Payge Semmes

For more than 30 years, Payge Semmes and her husband, Ed, have enjoyed Lewis Smith Lake, and have recently made it their permanent residence.

Payge Semmes grew up in Charleston South, Carolina and graduated from the University of Georgia with a BFA in Interior Design. After working for several years in the design field, she chose to concentrate on fine arts. She attended art workshops around the country taught by nationally recognized artists. Payge focused on faith-related art and eventually began her teaching career at St. John Paul II Catholic High School in Huntsville Alabama. After twelve years of teaching art, Payge retired in 2020.

She is excited about living in Crane Hill, Al, on Lewis Smith Lake. During all the seasons, she enjoys painting beautiful landscape scenes around the lake. Her passion for all things seen includes family, pet, and house portraits.  Payge offers a wide selection of commissioned work in oil, acrylic, pastels, and watercolors and would love to take on your vision.  Please check out her Facebook page and Instagram page, @semmespayge.
